பத்தாம் வகுப்பு கணக்கு பாடத்தில் மொத்தம் 8 இயல்கள் உள்ளன. ஒவ்வொரு இயலும் (Chapter), கற்றல் விளைவுகள் (Learning Outcomes), குறிப்பு (Note), சிந்தனைகளம் (Thinking Corner), முன்னேற்றத்தை சோதித்தல் (Progress Check), செயல்பாடு (Activity), பயிற்சி (Exercise), பலவுள் தெரிவு வினாக்கள் (Multiple Choice Question), அலகுபயிற்சி (Unit Exercise), நினைவு கூர்வதற்கான கருத்துகள் (Points to Remember), இணையச்செயல்பாடு (ICT Corner) என்ற வரிசையில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த இயல் கணங்களின் கார்டீசியன் பெருக்கலை வரையறுக்கிறது. உறவுகள் கார்டீசியன் பெருக்கலின் உட்கணமாக விவரிக்கப்படுகிறது மற்றும் சார்புகள் ஒரு சிறப்பு உறவாக வரையறுக்கப்படுகிறது. மேலும் சார்புகள் நான்கு வழிகளில் குறிக்கப்படுகின்றன. அவை அம்புக்குறி படம், வரிசைச் சோடிகள், அட்டவணை மற்றும் வரைபடம் ஆகியனவாகும். ஒன்றுக்கொன்று, பலவிற்கொன்று, மேல் சார்பு, உட்சார்பு மற்றும் இருபுறச் சார்பு என சார்பின் வகைகள் அனைத்தும் விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்த இயலில் பல சார்புகளின் இணைத்தலை சேர்ப்புச் செயல்பாடுகள் மூலம் அறியலாம் மற்றும் நேரிய, இருபடி, கன, தலைகீழ்ச் சார்பு வரைபடங்கள் வரைதலையும் புரிந்து கொள்ளலாம்.

This chapter explains the defintion of cartesian product of sets. Relation is defined as a subset of cartesian product and function is defined as a special relation. It also represents a function through four ways : an arrow diagram, a set of ordered pairs, a table and a graph. one – one function, many-one function, onto, into and bijection are the classificiations of functions defined in this chapter. It deals with the combination of functions through composition operations. It helps us to understand the graphs of linear, quadratic, cubic and reciprocal functions.

இந்த இயலில் யூக்ளிடின் வகுத்தல் துணைத்தேற்றம் விளக்கி கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது மற்றும் மீ.பொ.வ, மீ.பொ.ம கண்டறிய பயன்படும் யூக்ளிடின் வகுத்தல் வழிமுறையும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில் அடிப்படை எண்ணியல் தேற்றம் விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ‘n’-யின் ஒருங்கிசைவு மட்டு, ‘n’-யின் கூட்டல் மட்டு, ‘n’-யின் பெருக்கல் மட்டு ஆகியவற்றை புரிந்துக் கொள்ளலாம். தொடர்வரிசை வரையறுக்கப்பட்டு அது ஒரு சார்பாகவும் விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில் கூட்டுத்தொடர்வரிசை மற்றும் பெருக்குத் தொடர் வரிசை வரையறுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் அவ்வரிசைகளின் ‘n’-வது உறுப்பு மற்றும் முதல் ‘n’ உறுப்புகளின் கூடுதலைப் கண்டறியும் முறைகள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் இப்பாடத்தில் மேலும் சில முடிவுறு தொடர்களின் கூடுதலையும் அறியலாம்.

This unit helps us to study the concept of Euclid’s division lemma and understand Euclid’s Division algorithm which is used to find LCM and HCF. It explains the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic. It help us to understand the congruence modulo ‘n’, addition modulo ‘n’ and multiplication modulo ‘n’. Sequence is defined and Arithmetic Progression and Geometric progression are explained in detail. It teaches to find ‘n’ term of an A.P and G.P and its sum to ‘n’ terms. It determines the sum of some finite series.

இந்த இயலில் மூன்று மாறியில் அமைந்த நேரிய ஒருங்கமை சமன்பாட்டு தொகுப்பிற்கு நீக்கல் முறையில் தீர்வு காணுதல் பற்றி கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பல்லுறுப்புக் கோவைகளின் மீ.பொ.வ மற்றும் மீ.பொ.ம ஆகியவற்றைக் கண்டறியும் முறையும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில் இயற்கணித விகிதமுறு கோவைகளைச் சுருக்குதல் பற்றியும் பல்லுறுப்புக் கோவைகளின் வர்க்கமூலம் காண்பதன் வழிமுறைகள் விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இருபடிச் சமன்பாடுகளை கற்பது பற்றியும், அதன் வளைவரைகளை வரைவது பற்றியும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் அணிகள், அவற்றின் வகைகள் மற்றும் அணிகள் மீதான செயல்பாடுகள் விளக்கிக் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளன.

This chapter deals about solving system of linear equations in three variables by the method of elimination. It helps to find GCD and LCM of polynomials. It explains how to simplify algebraic rational expression and to compute the square root of polynomials. It helps us to learn about quadratic equations and to draw quadratic graphs. It deals with matrix and its types and also the operation on Matrices.

சர்வசம முக்கோணங்களை நினைவு கூர்தல் மற்றும் வடிவொத்த முக்கோணங்களின் வரையறைகளை புரிந்து கொள்ள இந்த இயல் உதவுகிறது. இந்த இயல்வடிவொத்த முக்கோணங்களின் பண்புகள் மற்றும் அவற்றை உருவாக்கும் முறைகளை அறிய உதவுகிறது. இந்த இயல் வாயிலாக அடிப்படை விகிதசம தேற்றம், கோண இருசமவெட்டித் தேற்றம் ஆகியவற்றின் பயன்பாடுகளை அறியலாம். பிதாகரஸ் தேற்றத்தை நிரூபித்து, அதன் பயன்பாட்டை தெரிந்து கொள்ளலாம். வட்டத்தின் தொடுகோடுகள் பற்றிய கருத்தைப் புரிந்து கொண்டு அதைப் பயன்படுத்தி வட்டத்திற்கு தொடுகோடுகள் வரையலாம். ஒருங்கிசைவு தேற்றங்களை புரிந்து கொண்டு அதை எவ்வாறு பயன்படுத்துவது என அறியலாம். 

This unit recalls congruent triangles and helps us to understand the definition, properties and construction of similar triangles and applies them to solve problems. Basic proportionality theorem, angle bisector theorem, Phythagoras theorem and concurrency theorems are proved and their applications are given. Finally, the concept of tangent to a circle is discussed and its construction is explained.

இந்த இயல் வாயிலாக, கொடுக்கப்பட்ட 3 புள்ளிகளால் உருவான முக்கோணத்தை காணுதல், கொடுக்கப்பட் நான்கு பள்ளிகளால் உருவான நாற்கரத்தின் பரப்பைக் காணுதல், ஒரு நேர்க்கோட்டின் சாய்வைக் காணுதல், பல்வேறு வகைகளில் நேர்க்கோட்டின் சமன்பாடுகளை கண்டறிதல், ax+by+c=0 என்ற கோட்டிற்கு இணையான நேர்க்கோட்டின் சமன்பாட்டைக் கண்டறிதல், ax+by+c=0 என்ற கோட்டிற்குச் செங்குத்தான நேர்க்கோட்டின் சமன்பாட்டைக் கண்டறிதல் போன்றவற்றை அறியலாம். 

This chapter helps to find area of a triangle formed by three given points, find area of a quadrilateral formed by four given points, find the slope of a straight line, determine equation of a straight line in various forms, find the equation of a line parallel to the line ax+by+c=0, find the equation of a line perpendicular to the line ax+by+c=0.

This chapter helps to recall the measures of central tendency, ungrouped and grouped data, concept of dispersion, compute range, standard deviation, variance and coefficient of variation, random experiments, sample space, use of tree diagram, define and describe difference types of events of a random experiment and addition theorem of probability and apply it in solving simple problems.
